Direct replacement of the Cruise Drive Harley-Davidson factory 6-speed. Comes ready to slide in the bike, no case modifications, shimming of the gear set or adjustments required.
The 7th gear enables the motorcycle to now make full use, by the way of gear ratio management, of the torque and power put out today’s modern muscle machines. No lugging the motorcycle off of a stop light. The shorter first gear ratio (numerically higher) helps with off the light get up and go as well as slow speed maneuvering. The remaining gears were tightened to ensure no large RPM drops allowing you to always find the right gear.
DD7 door bearings are 28% wider than stock and the door is produced from billet 6061-T6 aluminum. These features, along with our steel bearing retainer plate, ensures that under heavy load the door bearings will not walk.
The DD7 Builder's kit includes new main drive gear bearing and seal, polished door, door gasket, side cover gasket, top cover gasket and self-adhesive DD7 side cover emblem. 2nd & 3rd gear a fully diamond ground spur cut gears to handle the peak torque that is reached in that range.
1st, and 4th through 7th gear are helical cut gears to deliver a quieter riding experience at slow speeds and at cruising speeds.
